This phone is considered as performance beast and you won’t need any resetting in its normal operation. But when you are reselling your phone or giving it to others or if you lose your mobile password then the resetting process will come in handy. There are three methods to reset your phone to its factory settings.

Soft Reset Sony Xperia L

The first method is known as soft reset. After closing all the apps that are running on your phone, go to “settings”. In the settings find and tap on “Privacy”. In privacy, tap on “Factory Data Reset”. Your phone will ask you to confirm your action saying that this process will delete all the data that is present on your phone. Tap on “Yes” and this will initiate the resetting process. After some time your mobile will automatically restart with factory settings.

Hard Reset Sony Xperia L

The second method is known as hard reset. Close all your applications and switch off your phone. Simultaneously press volume button and power button for 10 seconds. Your phone will vibrate and an android logo will appear which is followed by a list of items. From the list of Recovery, Sim-Lock, Clear Storage etc. select “Clear Storage”. You have to use volume buttons to choose actions and power button to confirm your action. Once you confirm your action, resetting process will start and after few minutes the phone will restart with factory settings.

Flashing Sony Xperia L

The third method is flashing your phone. In mobile terminology, flashing is a process in which you overwrite the existing OS of your phone with updated or default OS. You have to connect your phone to PC, which is installed with flash tool software and Sony PC Suite. After connecting your phone, with the help of flashing software, overwrite the existing OS and install new OS. After the completion of this process your mobile will restart with factory default settings. This method is somewhat complex when compared with the above two and it must be done under expert’s guidance only.

Any of the three resetting process, completely erases the data that is saved in your phone (not in the SD card). So it is always better to copy all your pictures, documents, contacts and other important files from mobile storage to SD card before the initialization of resetting process, so that you will have access to your data after the setting process. It is better to charge your battery to the fullest before the start of resetting process. Your phone will automatically off and on in the process of resetting, it is a common practice in resetting and you have to keep your phone idle while the resetting process is going on.
