How to solve no sim card error in your phone

How many of you guys have faced this issue on your mobile device showing “no sim card, error!”. This is not a big but usual issue that most mobile device users face. This problem has been a key reason for disturbing or postponing a plan only due to network error.

A phone without a network means no internet, no calls, no messages, and even no games(win which network is required). Overall, a smartphone is not a smartphone without network support. Whether you are submitting a post, presenting a presentation, filling some form, or taking an online exam or test using mobile data, it can be a great obstacle in your path ruining your happiness and delaying or canceling your plan.

Most of us think(that is also correct) that this issue is due to the improper adjustment of the sim card in the slot. But this is not the only reason due to which your phone shows this error notification.


Displaying No sim card error maybe your device software issue. It is possible that your sim card is properly inserted but your device is not reading it due to its software corruption. Displaying no sim card error may lead you to know your device’s inability to read networks.

1. By Restarting your device

It’s always a good move to start from the basics. So the quickest and easiest method of resolving the no issue card issue is to restart/reboot your device.

When you restart or reboot your phone, it quickly refreshes all your device’s software and fixes minor errors so that your phone works in a proper way.

So, restart the device and allow it to connect to a network to fix the issue.

The process of restarting or rebooting the device to fix no sim card error has been a temporary solution so if your issue has been solved then you don’t have to look for the next one.

2. By checking the sim tray

Another possibility for displaying the no sim card error on your phone may be the accumulation of dust particles on your device’s sim card tray and the sim card is coming in contact with the device’s internal circuit.

To fix the issue, power off your phone and remove the sim card from the slot. Remove(by blowing out) the dust particle present on the tray and wipe your sim gently without damaging any of its parts. Place back the sim card to its position in the tray and power on the device. The problem may be solved.

If the issue is still being displayed, try to insert a different sim card if you have an unlocked Android device. By doing this, you’ll get to know whether your device is not working well or it is the sim card that is corrupted.

If your device reads the other sim card, then it was the sim card’s fault, and you will no longer be able to use that sim again. But, if the device doesn’t read the other sim card too, it needs further troubleshooting and you may have to go through our next solution.

3. Turning on-off the Airplane mode

Another process to fix the no sim card error displayed on your phone screen may be turning the Airplane mode of the device on and off. Apply this process if you have confirmed already that your sim card is not corrupted and it works properly.

The steps to toggle(turning on and off the Airplane mode) are mentioned below.

  • Unlock your mobile screen and pull down the notification pane from the top.
  • Search Airplane mode or Flight mode noted there.
  • Click on the Airplane mode or ✈️ icon to turn on the flight mode of the device. (You will lose network support, if available of another sim card, of your device)
  • If a warning message appears on your phone screen, make sure to click on enable.
  • Now you will have to wait for about 20-30 seconds and tap on it again to turn it off.

Once the Airplane mode is off, your device will restart to search for available networks. If there is not any software issue, the device will regain the available network. If your phone is still unable to read any network, then you’ll have to go through some other solutions.
