Now we can deal with our topic of how to take screenshots on Lenovo laptops. The screenshot is an important feature as it plays an important role for several reasons. This is an absolutely easy way of accessing any information and sharing it. It is useful in a way that we can explain anything step by step by showing the screenshot. Taking an image of our display requires a screenshot itself. The screenshot procedure is different depending on the model you own. In Lenovo, there are different ways to take screenshots and I’m gonna explain it with each method so that many of the people would get to know the options I believe.


How to take screenshots On Lenovo Laptops:

There are different methods for taking screenshots. Some work only with windows 10 while some work with any of the windows versions. Here I’m mainly discussing the screenshot procedures that can be done in windows 10 and other versions of windows.

1. Screenshot In Windows 10

There are 2 methods for taking screenshots in this version. The snipping tool is also available in Windows 10 for taking screenshots.

  • One method is that, hold down the Windows key and then press the PrtSc(PrintScreen) key. While doing this, the screen will dim for a moment and the image on the monitor will be saved to the screenshot folder in your files.

Another method,

  • Hold down the Windows key, then press the W key.
  • A slide bar menu will appear on the right side of your monitor.
  • Select ScreenSketch from the menu.
  • The screenshot will be taken. If you want, you can edit and then save it.

This method is particularly useful when you want to highlight or mark up certain parts of the image later.

Screenshot using Snipping Tool in Windows 10:

Snipping Tool is used to taking a screenshot of an open window, a rectangular area, or the entire screen. The steps for the screenshot includes:


  • Left-click the Snipping Tool in the Taskbar.
  • Select New. (the screen may be grey till you select a window)
  • Select the window using the mouse(move mouse points to the window & left click). The selected window should have a red border.
  • The Snipping Tool will load the image. Then you can save the image.

Other than windows 10

It’s okay if you don’t have windows 10. You can follow these steps for taking screenshots. Though it consists of more steps, it combines the functionality of the other two. The steps are:

  • Press the PrtSc key on the keyboard to copy an image of your screen to the clipboard.
  • Open Paint, or a similar application and use the paste function(ctrl+V) to open the image in the program.
  • Use the tools in Paint to Mark up the image if you desire, then click “File” & ” Save” it to your files.

Some systems may require pressing the Fn key before pressing the PrtSc key.

Screenshots in Lenovo phones can be taken by:

  • Press & hold the Power button and Volume down button at the same time. The image will be captured.
  • Swiping down the status bar from the screen top and tap the screenshot button.
